The Doctors
Clinton H. Dennison, D.V.M.

Dr. Clint Dennison is originally from Colorado where he graduated from a small school in a ranching community nestled in the belly of the rocky mountains known as Plateau Valley (GO COWBOYS!). As one of fourteen(or so) boys in his graduating class of twenty eight, Dr. Dennison completed his first milestone "Friendliest" Class of "85". After a brief stent as a ranch hand, he joined the USAF after Sid Pace sold the ranch to H.B. Zachary & Co. as a hunting property. Coupled with his short sports career as third string special circumstance point guard at a Junior College made him realize cattle ranching and professional basketball were not in his immediate future. Boot camp and technical training school seemed to be the slowest part of his life. Nine months of learning morse code in what seemed to be a dungeon, found him longing for the sound of stretching wire and free throws in an empty gymnasium. Things began an upward turn, he soon had a life that James Bond would envy; except for the georgous women, fancy cars and cool gadgets, he had it all! Working at night in buildings with no windows wearing only olive green attire and birth control classes he was the USAF latest in "spyness". Upon his honorable discharge Dr. Dennison completed his second milestone "VA Loan". This would allow him to attend a major university wherby he didn't really have to qualify or have a good sat score because the university was guaranteed their tuition. He did not immediately start college though. He spent several years working in the oil field where he developed equipment to facilitate a higher delivery system and extraction of natural gas that earned him the title of gas well fracture engineer. At this job he almost lost his left hand, survived a natural gas explosion and drove a large semi into a well irrigated pasture at 90 miles an hour in the wee hours before dawn. With this invaluable experience he had the gall to quit and seek employment elsewhere. Unsure of what to do next, he tried his hand as a salesman in a westernwear store. This was his best move yet. Although he was not much of a salesman, he did get to assist as a judge for a wrangler tight fittin' jeans contest, but more importantly this is where he met his future wife (not at the contest, at the store; not that she couldn't...ohhh). Dr. Anita or "Gracey" as she was known then, coaxed him into college and with her tutalage, helped him get through his first two years. At that time, Dr Dennison took an extreme interest in biology and animal husbandry. During this time Dr. Dennison worked to develop a humane traction device and assist in reasearch in the use of therapeutic ultrasound on pigeons. He also worked in research of mycoplasma in the turtle. The natural transition was then a degree in animal science(third milestone). He added a second bachelors in microbiology(fourth milestone). Anita and Clint then both applied to veterinary school. They were accepted into the same class at Colorado State University(fifth milestone). Dr. Dennison worked his way through school by developing a handyman business doing carpentry, plumbing etc.. and training horses on the side. He was also employed as a research assistant at CSU in equine reproduction developing estrous synchronizing medications, he was also involved in the development of new non-steroidal/non ulcerative medication for horses. He also assisted in the reasearch of osteoperosis cause and affect in sheep as a model for women. He wrote a chapter for reproductive ultrasound in sheep for a well known farm animal text.(sixth milestone, how many milestones can there be?). Dr. Dennison married Anita in the fall of their Sophomore year(seven). Dr. Dennison received the Outstanding Large Animal Surgery Award in his senior year of veterinary school and subsequently completed a large animal surgery internship, the only one CSU has ever offered (eight, nine). After graduation Dr. Dennison worked for Dr. Greg Farrand in Fort Collins, Colorado. Dr. Dennison considers Dr. Farrand as one of the best veterinarians he has ever been associated with. Dr. Dennison then spent two years in Oregon. In the Spring of 2004, the Drs. Dennison had the opportunity to work with Anita's dad Dr. Kent Patton in the Temecula and Winchester California area. They jumped at the chance to work for Dr. Patton with the potential to expand the practice and continue the integrety of Dr. Patton's life's work. Upon Dr. Patton's retirement, the Drs. Dennison saw the opportunity to unite Dr. Patton's practice with the currently empty Los Caballos Veterinary Hospital to form what we now have today. Dr. Dennison has received many awards and forms of recognition for his accomplishments, but his most sacred accomplishment is the union he shares with his wife Anita and their creation of two beautiful girls Cahlea Paige and Koralynn Mae Dennison.
Anita C. Dennison, D.V.M, M.S.

Dr. Anita Dennison was born and raised in a veterinary and agricultural family. Her father, Dr. Kent Patton practiced veterinary medicine and raised beef cattle in the Temecula area for over thirty years. Her grandfather, Dr. O.R. Adams was one of the founding members of modern equine surgery.
Dr. Anita Dennison attented Pepperdine University, Mt. San Jacinto College and Colorado State University. Dr. Dennison recieved two bachelor degrees in Microbiology and Biology, with a minor in Anatomy and Neurobiology. After completion of her D.V.M. degree, Dr. Dennison completed an interniship in Large Animal Medicine, and began her residency training in Food Animal Medicine and Surgery. It was at this time in her career that Dr. Dennison became actively inetersted in camelid medicine, under the teaching of Dr. Larue Johnson and Dr. Dave VanMetre. Dr. Dennison has also completed a Master's degree in Microbiology, studying Clostridial disease and developing assays for toxin detection. She has been involved with research for over ten years. Dr. Dennison has practiced in Colorado, Oregon, and California. She is currently co-owner of Los Caballos Veterinary Hospital, Inc., a mother of two toddlers, and a adjunct professor for Western University of Health Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine.
Chris J. Huth, D.V.M.

Dr. Chris Huth was born and raised in Poway, California. He was very involoved in 4-H and FFA while growing up. He showed steers and hogs at the Del Mar Fair for over 10 years. After graduating from Poway High School, he attended Fresno State. During his time at Fresno State, he was responsible for the breeding program at the Quater Horse Unit. Dr. Huth graduated with the Dean's medalist award for the College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology.
Dr. Huth graduated Colorado State University's Professional Veterinary Medical Program in 2007. During school, Dr. Huth worked in the Fort Collins Bio-Security Laboratory on a variety of research studies including horses, alpacas and aligators. Most of the work he did was with the West Nile Virus. He was also very involved in both the student chapters of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Equine Practitioners. Dr. Huth also (see Dr. Clint Dennison) recieved the Outstanding Large Animal Surgery Award when he finsihed veterinary school. Although he had a large animal emphasis during vet school, he spent his first year working in a mixed animal hospital in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. The variety of animals he worked on was entertaining, but he really missed working in a large animal hospital.
Dr. Huth and his wife, Becca, have one daughter named Abigail. She was born in November, 2007 in Durango, CO. They are all excited to be back in Southern California.
